[00:00:00] Welcome to the One Thing podcast, where we all get to usher in the new age of humanity
[00:00:21] that we're calling homo spiritus. this one thing connection. So in this episode, we are going to, David and I are going to explore how to cultivate a little bit of lightness of being to make our path infinitely easier. Yes, indeed. And so don't age of humanity, the next epoch in the development of humanity as a species. Right. And we're all on the leading state of evolution to include our heart, because literally that is where the light is accessed. That is where everything that we would ever wanna
[00:04:23] connection to that would to help us to thrive,
[00:04:27] it will be in this heart centered place. and invite and receive and accept the light. And this takes a little practice from the sacred heart, the sacred heart flame of your higher presence. Imagine it as a waterfall of light that's dropping into your chest, literally an overflowing your heart center like a fountain of light,
[00:05:40] which ends up feeding all of the cells of our body,
[00:05:43] including overflowing from our physical self we would offer as just beginning places to play with connecting to your heart. Yes, for sure. And I was contemplating this piece pain as long as we stay connected to our higher selves and invite our higher self to teach us how to move through that pain, to heart pain, we want to review with you some of the qualities that we see in lightness of being, in the kind of comedy, comedy shows, anything he could get his hands on that made him laugh. And so laughter, giggling is one of the attributes. It's one of the qualities of lightness of being and this was this was one of the first qualities of lightness of being that
[00:12:09] So connecting with humor is one of the attributes or qualities of lightness of being that we want to showcase and emphasize with you today.
[00:12:13] Yeah, they're not the only these aren't the only ways, but they're they're like David
[00:12:17] said, we just wanted to showcase.
[00:12:19] And I'd also like to say that these attributes are actually medicine.
[00:12:24] Their medicine for our heart and their medicine for our mind and their medicine for our body one's masquerading as humor because that's not humor. Right. What I am a huge fan of is delimiting what we can engage in authentic humor about that there should be no topic that is off limits in terms of engaging in true authentic humor.
[00:13:40] Yeah.
[00:13:42] Spirit or source or, you know, the source of life, whatever you refer to that as is
[00:13:46] actually has a good with playfulness. You know, if you think about
[00:16:20] animals, think about a dog or a cat or a sense, they're actually seeing past my head
[00:16:24] and past my intensity to the most precious sacred part
[00:17:25] divine safety and protection. I remember once I was waiting for someone to come over and they were like an hour late and I don't know the doorbell rang. I thought it was the person that was going
[00:17:31] to come over and there was nobody at the door and I walked back through the dining area and there was
[00:17:36] there was this weird fella you know a guy sort of laid out on the deck in a position looking at me
[00:17:45] really funny and I was so so scared and I you know, and I start feeling a tenseness around that, cause all that to-do list and all that, I just put those things in my field. This is actually something that Gay Hendricks has written about in his book, The Big Leap called Einstein Time.
[00:19:00] If you place things in the quantum field
[00:19:03] and you allow your higher presence or your higher self,
[00:19:06] who's way more wise and intelligent don't penetrate that light field. Light is the strongest force and power in the multiverse. So we have to remind ourselves that anything that we're afraid of in, you know, in the, in the third dimensional boots on the ground life, if, if we invite light into it, it will teach us what's true about that thing that we think we're afraid of kind of thing.
[00:20:23] But it's hard to access all of that when we aren't taking good care of confusion. And, you know, I'll speak for myself knowing that I'm not just speaking for myself, but just in terms of taking responsibility. When my mind is complicating things and feeling locked in confusion,
[00:21:40] in contrast to feeling at peace in what in Zen tradition
[00:21:45] is called a beginner's mind state or state of not knowing, And so that's another Bellweather around, uh, around lightheartedness. If I'm in the kind of complicatedness in my mind that, that feels draining and heavy. I'm not being deep. I'm being complicated. Which, which automatically points to being disconnected.
[00:23:03] Precisely.
[00:23:04] Yeah.
[00:23:05] Yeah, exactly. I mean, things, that's a form of suffering.
[00:24:20] And just, I'm gonna be blunt and say this,
[00:24:23] I'm not the only one who says it,
[00:24:25] but human beings are addicted to suffering That's not what we're talking about when we're using the word suffering right now. We're what we're talking about with suffering is actually a very, very shadowy form of self-indulgence. Yeah. So I think that leads us to our two simple takeaways.
[00:25:45] Great.
[00:25:46] Simple and lighthearted.
[00:26:46] is, and this is, you know, this is, we don't ever say things in these conversations that we both don't practice and do ourselves. So,
[00:26:50] Even imperfectly.
[00:26:51] Even, yeah, however imperfectly the point is to be in the game, not on the sidelines,
[00:26:56] as Brene Brown so beautifully states. But this, all of these things, and this in particular,
[00:27:02] this lightness of being, this reaching how that mindset, the cancel culture mindset, no matter where we're talking about on the political or ideological continuum because canceling is going on everywhere.
[00:28:21] So how the cancel culture mindset undermines homo spiritus
